Wellpoint

Main Components

Component Description
Well point A small tube (usually 1.5 inches in diameter, 3 feet long) with a perforated screen and tip for easy driving into the soil.
Riser pipe Connects the well point to the header pipe above ground.
Header pipe Horizontal pipe running along the excavation, connecting all well points to the pump.
Pump Creates suction or vacuum to draw groundwater (commonly a wellpoint pump or vacuum-assisted centrifugal pump).
Discharge hose Carries the pumped-out water to a drainage area or containment system.
